Understanding the challenges and acting for the future
In Cameroon, many children grow up in precarious conditions that compromise their access to education, water, protection, health, and adequate nutrition, hindering their development.
- Less than 45% of children continue their studies at the secondary level (source: UNESCO).
- In 2021, 28% of children are not registered in civil status and have no identity (source: UNICEF). This figure has been increasing over the last decade.
- Cameroon is among the 20 countries in the world with the highest rates of child marriage according to UNICEF in 2020: 31% of women are married before age 18.
Faced with these challenges, SSEDPSD acts concretely to change the lives of Cameroonian children through sponsorship programs. By working closely with local communities, our actions aim to guarantee a better future for children in Cameroon.
Our actions to protect their fundamental rights
